PAD Sites

These Guardians are essential to ensure PADs site are operational when needed.

A PAD Site Guardian is a volunteer for the Cardiac Action Group who will adopt a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) and maintain that PAD on a regular basis (every two weeks and more in coastal areas).  This helps ensure that the PAD site is in good working order and can be operated when a sudden out of hospital cardiac arrest occurs in the vicinity.  The Guardians perform a vital role in the chain of survival to protect the members of the public in the event of a cardiac arrest.  This helps saves lives in our community.

PAD site guardians are responsible in ensuring a PAD site remains functional 24/7 all year round. Each PAD site is maintained by two guardians who are responsible for checking each site fortnightly.

If you volunteer as a Guardian, you will receive training on how to maintain your PAD site and how to report when problems arise using our monitoring App. As a volunteer you will be supported by the Cardiac Action Group in your role and be part of the Guardian network that delivers this important work. This includes the provision of regular training and co-ordination with other PAD site guardians.

If you have time to support this vital role please contact us via our email or contact CAG form.
