PAD Site Guardians

PAD site Guardians are essential to ensure PAD sites are operational when needed.

The Role of the PAD Site Guardian

A PAD Site Guardian is a volunteer for the Cardiac Action Group who adopts a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) and maintains it on a regular basis (every two weeks and more in coastal areas).  This helps ensure that the PAD site is in good working order and can be operated when a sudden out of hospital cardiac arrest occurs in the vicinity.  The guardians perform a vital role in the chain of survival to protect the members of the public in the event of a cardiac arrest.  This helps saves lives in our community.

Volunteer and become a PAD Site Guardian

If you volunteer as a Guardian, you will receive training on how to maintain your PAD site and how to report when problems arise using our monitoring App. As a volunteer, you will be supported by the Cardiac Action Group in your role and be part of the Guardian network that delivers this important work. This includes the provision of regular training and co-ordination with other PAD site guardians.

If you have time to support this vital role please contact us via our email or contact us here.

Our guardian training guide

We created this handy video guide for our PAD site guardians to ensure they are aware of the expected regular maintenance of each cabinet located at each PAD site.
